The Local Catch, Inc. sells fresh, untreated, sustainably wild-caught local seafood direct to consumers at farmers markets. It was founded on the philosophy that selling seafood locally improves our community's relationship with the food we eat. Our strategy supports New England fishermen, is better for the environment, and provides a fresher, tastier seafood product to our community.
We are now hiring part-time and full-time help for the summer market season (April–November).
No experience required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to engage with customers and talk about our fish! We are willing to train the right person who has enthusiasm for fresh seafood, local food, and farmers markets.
This seasonal position could lead to a year round opportunity for the right person who wants to help our company grow.
We serve farmers markets throughout Rhode Island and Connecticut. The position may also include processing and packing at our facility in Point Judith. Will include some regular lifting of up to 50 pounds. Must have a smartphone and a 5-year good driving record.
Hours are very flexible, and are mostly on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Hourly rate begins in the $12–15 range.
To apply, email Captain Cook at firstname.lastname@example.org with your resume and a little bit about yourself, including what appeals to you about working with us and relevant experience in sales, fishing, food, etc. Applications without cover letters will not be reviewed.
The Local Catch, Inc. is an equal-opportunity employer.
Any offers of employment will be contingent on confirmation of a 5-year good driving history and background check.
